cutie bumpkin
thesartorialist.blogspot.com
if i ever call you a "cutie bumpkin" it is because you resemble this whimsical creature.
I think most beauty rests in the perfect balance of opposites.
A little black, a little white
Torn jeans, a delicate top
A dress and chunky boots
a beautiful, young table with mismatched, aging chairs
A bit of glitter, a bit of tangle
A little sweet, a little salt
fresh green wall paint and an old clock
a bit of delicate lace, a rough bit of leather
skinny black jeans & a popped collar with rosy cheeks, a sheepish smile and a hint of curl.
it just works.
it just makes me happy.

positive pointing #35: my boy
I am thankful for a boy who gives me his $600 paycheck and excitedly tells me "go buy your wedding dress!" before I've had the chance to properly greet him or sit down to dinner with him in the late afternoon. I'm not sure that the groom traditionally buys the bride's dress. I'm not sure what I did to deserve such kindness and generosity from a boy I've known only 3 years. I don't know how much dresses usually cost, what I will spend or which sort of style I want. but I do know that I'd dress up in a white sheet as long as I knew the aisle ended with eric.

positive pointing #34: sparkle sparkle
I'm thankful for a boy with a ring in his pocket
and how one unassuming sidewalk splashed with white sunshine
and deeply submerged in the hush of a sunday afternoon
became the ground upon which one chapter of my life ended
and this new one began.
