positive pointing #68: happy snippets

summer 09' egg-collecting excursion with Frannie produces five beautifully brown eggs. rag tag little one with bare feet and tangled hair and a bossy attitude towards a particularly insistent rooster. Forever after, I want a chicken coop. Not for the eggs themselves, necessarily, but just so I can go gather them or send barefooted children to.

this valentine's day, you should go get pizza together. down with reservations, red roses and chocolate boxes. (do that on tuesday) this is eric and me on our last evening of our honeymoon. we looked for a snazzy sushi place with absolutely no luck--they were all filled or too loud--- and landed at last at this quiet pizza joint around the corner from the main street. i think the trash can as a door stop says alot. it was beautiful. two pizzas & one large coke on the beach. yes please.

fabulous dots-of-color rings at starlet. they've have been keeping me company at the store for the entirety of my almost 2-year employment. They're joint color scheme makes me happy every time I see them all huddled together in the ring box. and sadly, it seems there destiny to remain so.

my wedding earrings. from sugar magnolia consignment boutique in cambridge, maryland (home country!) to the bridal ears of four good friends (maryland, california, georgia, tennesee) before they graced mine. so special, right? and so very vintage, classy bride.

positive pointing #69: morning shot

yesterday morning, the first thing eric thought of to do was to take the camera off the sill on which it's been laying for the past couple weeks and snap a photo of me making him breakfast through the window between our bedroom and kitchen.

i'm not sure that using the flash through glasswas a great idea.
i'm pretty sure i added windex to our grocery list.
i'm pretty sure i felt like a persecuted hollywood star just trying to live a normal life.
also pretty sure it made me laugh after i saw eric's way-to-wide-for-this-early-in-the-morning grin peek out behind out army-green, finepix z point-n-shoot.

and i'm assured that when i was scrolling through my newest photos this morning i, the lover of snapshots that i am, fell in love with the strange angle, the curtain of vagueness over the whole image, mysterious speckles, the candid expression during an egg-making endeavor and a little hint of a beer bottle lable--our joint favorite--along the bottom portion.

positive pointing #68: a show starring eric, oliver & lucy.

eric's solution for a quieter morning: don't let the dogs falls asleep all day so they'll sleep longer tomorrow and we can wake up by alarms insteads of barking and whining. a good solution that becomes funny when practiced:

"kyrie, throw the toy. throw it again. kyrie! they're laying down. throw the toy!!!" she's falling asleep! don't let her fall asleep! oliver, wake up! oliver!! wake up!! lucy's falling alseep. push her over!! lucy! get your toy! go get it!!" accompanied by lots and lots of clapping and snapping and occasional attempts to make dog sounds in an effort to "talk" to them and say things like "hey stay awake. hey, staying awake is fun. hey, i'm awake. you should be awake too! staying awake is the best." i'm sure he's speaking flawless, fluent dog and communicating seamlessly.

and when such words fail, he keeps saying "go crazsy, go crazsy, go crazsy" over and over in this quick crazed hushed tone that makes them go all bonkers and wierd.

is it really all worth the 30 minutes of sleep? probably not.
is it worth the hours of entertainment i'm recieving AND being made to participate in? YES.

read some lame but oh-so-satisfying magazines

feel wonderful doing it

feel whole afterwards (the roots are horrendous)
and ready to face the cold, snowy world.

ps. i was really hoping that we could celebrate your wedding every year in the way we did on january 2, 2010. it was just too fantastic to do only once. lets plan on that dress, that music, that church, those candles, those banners, that dj. taylor swift jam too. same place, same time. we'll shoot for next year:)
