off to to read about vampires.

we spend lots of time in the car these days. heading back and forth between each other houses, out to get some coffee, visit friends, drop each other off somewhere or finding some adventure.
we're off to barnes and noble in the picture above so i can read twilight and not pay 11.99 for it and so he could do his homework while i'm occupied. we were just looking to burn time before heading to his sister's for some pizza goodness.

funny story:

we found stratego for $9.00 at barnes and noble instead of the original price which was $29.99. it was 75% off! but this is a "collectors edition" so the pieces are "special" and are basically just shapped like upright dominoe pieces and behave like upright dominoe pieces. they fall down. we've played it twice now and each time, after an hour into the game, one of us will knock down our own flag with our sleeve or something and totally ruin the game. If any of you have played this game you know the whole game is played around trying to find that flag. it's very not great. it's of the upmost importance that stratego pieces are stable and stand upright the entire time so the other person has no idea where your players are. it's very sad because it's both of our most favorite game and have such a good time playing it.

so now we're looking online for the regular stratego pieces so they'll stand up and we can have a decent game. if you have an old game your not using anymore, consider sending us your great plastic pieces! we'd be very pleased!

the ones we want.

the ones we have currently.
and yes, ulysses and mr. lee are actual litle pieces in the game.

It was a patch of grass to anyone else; to be stepped on, to be rained on, to be mowed over and to add to the rest of the patches that make up a lawn. I remember on hot days, exhausted from the sun and all my running around, i'd plop onto the our warm, weed-filled grass and cup my little hands over a litte patch of grass. Soon i was lying on my stomach staring down through a large hole made by my fingers; large enough to let the light in and to see through. I remember feeling like I could look forever at all those tiny nothings. I found immense satisfaction knowing that i was the only one who would ever see those grains of dirt and those skurrying little ants and the grass that starting out so thin and white and became a wider band of green near the top.

I wrote this in class this morning. the teacher gave us an quick assignment to take some object from our past and start describing it in hopes that i would give way to some sort of story. It was just an excerise to get us started on writing an artist's statement; a "free write" he called it. little did he know how wonderful those two words are to me and how many free writes i've done in my life and how thankful i am for 'free writes' because they made me love writing and most of all those words have made 'A' appear repeatedly on the top of my papers for school.

this song is called sushi

it's fitting for my new favorite song to be named after my favorite food.

there's no music video. the screen stays the same so just dance along. !

mood-banner

my header will change depending on my mood.
just give you all a heads up.
and sort of an excuse as to why my banner changes every other day.
and giving myself an excuse to keep doing it.

now pretend this is a different post:

i love the idea of falling asleep with a book open. i've always tried to do it--cause i just think it's a generally romantic thing to do. but i always end up peeking out of one eye to see if anyone is seeing me doing this incredible romantic thing. i think thats what keeps me from ever being able to go through with it.

anyway, eric did it. while hugging my bare feeet with his hands.
he would.

i remember sitting the back seat of the car taping this and i could not breath because i as laughing so hard--i think you can hear me alittle when my laugh becomes audible. we had spotted this fire when we were coming into town from annapolis. it was like 8:00 in the morning. we were attempting to follow it but simple things always, somehow, end up totally out of control when the three of us are together.

i love sienna's "..get outta here!!" at the end of her breath and how she smacks the dashboard. oh. too much.

now i have two

ever since i got these flower earrings from my dad, i've felt the urge to get two holes. Just putting one in looked a little bit like an odd spot of blood or something. so i thought maybe two would do the trick and look a little pretty too.

so last friday night, to save on money, eric pierced one of my ears and i pierced the other. oddly enough, it's really not that painful at all. i couldn't feel it. i think the trick is to use ice beforehand. which is what we did. worked like a charm

so now i can wear two flowers and (i think!) they look like two flowers...not two strange scabs or something. what do you think?

i'm pretty happy about it^^

my name in "found type"

our project for 'experimental type' class is to find the entire alphabet and numbers 1-9 somewhere in the enviroment. it's kinda fun--like a scavenger hunt. me and eric roamed his neighborhood today in the 60 DEGREE WEATHER! looking for letters. he found the 'i'. isn't it good? i thought it was brilliant. actually i think he found all of them. !
